Have you ever had someone you’ve had deep conversations with, someone you’ve been kind to—suddenly look and attempt to greet you a few days later and say, **"I forgot your name, what was it again?"**? 

It feels like a punch to the spirit. Your first instinct might be to "light up" even more, to remind them how wonderful you are, or to provide "free compliments" to get back on that radar. **Stop right there.** That "forgetting" isn't a lapse in memory. It’s a **tactic.** ### **

Why They Do It (IRL & Online)**

Whether it’s in the physical world or a "Robot" (AI/Bot) online, the goal is the same:

* **The Status Reset:** They want to lower your value to zero so you’ll work harder to prove that you’re special. 

* **The Ego Collection:** They feed on the "chase." When you try to remind them who you are, you are giving them a free ego boost they didn't earn.

* **The Digital Mirror:** If you see this same line popping up online and in person, pay attention! It’s a "script" used by people who aren't looking for a heart—they’re looking for a "win" or even a way to trick you out of your resources.

I wasted years giving "joy-sparkling" energy to someone who played the "Twin" game—warm one day, cold the next. But the moment I saw that "I forgot your name" line used as a digital signature, the truth came out.
